A traffic stop Wednesday in Carbondale led to an arrest on a weapons case from earlier in the week.

On Wednesday, Carbondale police officers stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of North Giant City Road for a traffic violation. The vehicle was previously reported to be involved in an unlawful use of weapons complaint from Monday.

In the course of the traffic stop, officers located a handgun in the vehicle. They arrested 21-year-old Adrielle Gaston of Carbondale and charged him with Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Carbondale Police Department or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (618) 549-COPS.
