Three buildings in the Marion Unit 2 School District went on a soft lockdown around 11 this morning because of potential suspicious activity.

School officials say the schools placed on the soft lockdown -- at police request -- included Longfellow Elementary, Marion High and Marion Junior High Schools.

Marion Police lifted it after about 11 minutes.

The schools say their was virtually no disruption of their classroom activities during the soft lockdown.
