The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is ramping up enforcement ahead of Independence Day, with a focus on catching impaired and unbuckled drivers. The holiday traffic safety campaign runs June 20 through July 7 and covers three busy summer weekends.
Sheriff’s deputies will join Illinois State Police and over 200 local departments statewide as part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” efforts.
Sgt. Ronald Stanton is urging everyone to plan ahead: don’t drive under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or other substances, and always wear your seat belt. It’s not just the law—it could save your life.
