The National Weather Service in Paducah is getting ready to offer spotter training classes.

These are trained volunteers who supplement Doppler radar information on severe storms and tornadoes.

These classes are free of charge and are open to anyone who has an interest in severe weather and/or public service.

The "Basic Storm Spotter" class is about 2 hours in length and is done virtually.

Classes are scheduled for Monday, September 16 and Monday, October 21.
