Local non-profit human services organization Arrowleaf is commemorating 6 years of developing and implementing strategies to tackle substance and opioid use disorders in Hardin and Pope Counties.
To mark this milestone, Arrowleaf is hosting a free public event on Tuesday at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center.
CEO of Arrowleaf, Sherrie L. Crabb, will begin the night at 6 p.m. by highlighting the importance of the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program at Arrowleaf and its impact in the area. She will also discuss the steps being taken to sustain efforts to combat substance misuse in the southernmost areas of Illinois.
Tiffany Jenkins, the social media star behind Juggling the Jenkins, will take the stage at 6:15. She will provide an up-close portrait of the mind of an addict and the devastating effects of narcotics.
She will also be hosting a private book signing after the event specifically for Hardin and Pope county residents, response program members, and Arrowleaf employees.
The event is free and open to the public.
