The City of Carbondale reports its Water Treatment Plant experienced a failure with a piece of secondary water treatment equipment on Thursday.
Officials say the equipment is a non-essential piece and will not have an affect on overall water quality.
City Staff worked quickly to mitigate the loss of water reserves and the plant is back in operation. Water Plant staff will continue water sampling and water testing to ensure the quality of the water remains safe.
They say further information will be made available if there are any concerns with water quality and/or supply.
