The Carbondale Super Splash Park plans to re-open this weekend after vandals damaged the whole facility this past weekend.

The facility's Facebook page indicates it will be open this Saturday and Sunday, August 17 and 18 from noon to 6 p.m.

Crews made great progress on clean up and repairs over the weekend, including draining and refilling the leisure pool and lazy river to clean broken glass and make sure it is safe for everyone.

The Carbondale Park District worked all weekend to get the park back in shape led by Super Splash Park General Manager Sydney Apgar and her team.

The Super Splash Park also thanked the Carbondale Fire Department for helping refill the pool and the Carbondale Police Department for continuing to investigate the vandalism.
