A Carbondale man is dead after he apparently walked into the path of a vehicle late Wednesday night in the 800 block of East Walnut Street.
The Carbondale Police Department says the pedestrian, later identified as 29-year-old Marcus Valliant, was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries Thursday.
The driver of the vehicle stopped after the incident, called 911 and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
